About Gazzal

Gazzal is a Legal Associate at WestBridge, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. As evidenced by her quote, she favours a practical approach to life and living. She firmly believes in breaking issues down visually and doodling her way to solutions. A philosophy she applies to legal tangles as well.

At WestBridge, Gazzal works on US-India investments, deal structuring, exits and legal compliance for portfolio companies. Private equity and venture capital investments, US-India cross border financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate/founder disputes (US and India) are her areas of expertise. She also opines on matters concerning the IT, FinTech, Pharmaceutical, Real Estate and FMCG sectors. Gazzal strives to take the complexity out of legalese and make legal advice simple and accessible. She actively fosters a work environment that encourages open dialogue and allows team members to communicate effectively. Her people motto being, “Let’s grab a coffee if you want to hear a story or feel better about an annoying problem, legal or otherwise.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Bangalore University and a Master’s degree in Law and Finance from Oxford. Before adding a spark to our team, Gazzal worked with Trilegal and Poovayya & Co. in India, and Travers Smith and Oxford Capital in the UK.

When not untangling legal knots, Gazzal inspires with her artwork. She is a self-taught artist strongly influenced by fauvism and impressionism. She also uses her downtime to share stories and anecdotes, hold forth on human psychology, watch Studio Ghibli movies and importantly, clean her paint brushes!
