About Shailesh

Shailesh Mehta has a strong passion for investment opportunities within the world of financial services. Based in Silicon Valley, he is the co-founder of Granite Hill Capital Partners, a venture capital firm focused on investments in Silicon Valley technology startups and select India-related opportunities, and currently serves as a general partner.

Previously, Shailesh was Chairman and CEO of Providian Financial Corporation, building a small team into a Fortune 500 company and one of the country’s top five card issuers

Shailesh founded the SJM School of Management at IIT- Bombay, his alma mater, and serves on its advisory board. He received his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering there, and a MS & PhD in Operations Research and Computer Science from Case Western Reserve. He is a proud father of two sons and a daughter, and has four grandchildren. He loves sports, food, reading and traveling.
