About Anil

Anil Mehta is an Operating Advisor at WestBridge Capital. He works closely with portfolio companies on scaling consumer and financial services businesses, with expertise in credit, risk management, and governance. Anil brings over three decades of leadership experience across financial services, having held senior roles at HDFC Ltd., American Express, Bank of America, ANZ Banking Group, and Max Life Insurance (formerly Max New York Life). At Max Life, he led a flagship initiative to develop inclusive life insurance products aimed at expanding access among underserved segments. In 2010, Anil founded ISFC, an affordable housing finance company focused on lower-income households. Under his leadership, ISFC grew into a leading provider of credit to underserved markets, significantly advancing financial inclusion and access to housing across India.

Anil currently serves as an Independent Director at Spocto Pvt Ltd, Yubi Pvt Ltd, and Edgrow Finance Pvt Ltd, and was formerly an Independent Director at Orbis Capital and Orbis Financial. He is also an Advisory Board Member at Athena Advisors and a Trustee of the Rama Mehta Charitable Trust. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. Outside of work, he is a keen traveler and an enthusiast of history and monuments.
